Social Networking Tool Working Saving Lives In Haiti

Project Ushadidi has built a mapping tool that allows people to keep informed on situations in Haiti in real-time. According to the BBC News:

“I don’t know how, but most of the network infrastructure survived,” said Reynold Guerrier, a network engineer at the Haitian Association for the Development of Information and Communication Technology (AHTIC).

Crisis Map of Haiti represents the most comprehensive and up-to-date crisis map available to the humanitarian community. The information here is mapped in near real time and gathered from reports coming from inside Haiti via many sources including Twitter
